Women's Ministry

Whatever your life stage – young, middle aged or older, veteran or newcomer – there is a place for you among us. For many years, women’s ministry at Blacknall has been a cornerstone of our church family, encouraging one another to grow more deeply in the love and call of Jesus Christ, fostering spiritual friendship and formation, praying together, serving one another and the community, and calling forth our gifts.

Women's Retreat

November 8-10, 2019 | Valle Crucis Conference Center

Expect singing, storytellers, rocking chairs, hikes, good food. There will be space for quiet reflection, meaningful conversation, silliness and much more.

"If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come!" (2 Cor. 5:17). New Creation sounds good, but what does it mean? What does it mean for us as individuals and for us as a church ? Join us as we explore the promise of New Creation together. Our guiding text for the weekend will be 2 Cor. 5:16-20. We will consider the meaning of this well-known passage in the broader context of 2 Corinthians, think together about its theological implications, and come up with practical responses. Sessions will include teaching, contemplation, conversation, and, we hope, some humor. Our goal is this: to wonder at the marvelous depth of the new creation which has begun with Jesus Christ and to dream about how we might live into this reality.

Speakers: Pastor Goodie Bell, Pastor Rebecca Gurney
Music: Amy Lett, Jamie Turnage
