Mosaic of Motherhood

  • Blacknall's Fellowship Hall 1902 Perry Street Durham, NC, 27705 United States (map)

Blacknall Women’s Ministry invites ALL women to gather and mark Mother’s Day in a way they never have before: Hear about the writings of a medieval female mystic and hear from Blacknall women about their varied experiences of mothering and being mothered.

We hope that you will join us at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 5 in the Fellowship Hall. Blacknall alum Dr. Grace Hamman will present on Julian of Norwich, a 14th century theologian and the first known female writer to produce works in English. Her talk will be followed by a panel discussion on the topics of mothering and motherhood, featuring Martha Carlough, Lauren Holahan, Traci Hoover, and Mary Lynn Myers.

There will also be refreshments, favors, and fun. Send us a photo of your mother—spiritual mother, mother figure, or mom—to be included in a slideshow. Email your pictures to Becky Gould.
