Adopting a Mind of Christ in an Age of Self-Expression
Modern life requires constant attention to the self: You must discover your true self, advocate for yourself, and express yourself. But, in the letter to the Philippians, the apostle Paul has different counsel for us: "Adopt the mind of Christ." Because of what Christ has done, we can set aside our preoccupation with the self and adopt a new way of being in the world — one which leads to progress in the faith, unity in the church, and joy, even in the midst of trials. We will unpack this together as we study the book of Philippians in worship this fall.
