“The Lamb Has Overcome”
The Lamb has overcome
The Lamb has overcome
The battle's done and the victory is won
For the Lamb has overcome
No grave could hold him down
No grave could hold him down
Up from the ground, “He is risen!” was the sound
No grave could hold him down
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain!
Glory be unto his name!
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain!
Glory be unto his name!
The table now is spread
The table now is spread
This wine and bread
Broken body and blood shed
The table now is spread

Invocation
Jesus, you are the lamb, who has overcome. You have conquered every power that comes against us by taking on our weakness. You have triumphed over sin and death by dying for us. We do not pretend to understand, but we rejoice that it is done. We exult in your victory, crucified and risen Lord. Exert your power among us now by your Holy Spirit: bind us together; lift us up to you; unshackle our hearts to ascribe glory to your name. Amen.
Responsive Scripture Reading | Psalm 29
Ascribe to the Lord, you heavenly beings,
ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
2 Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name;
worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness.
3 The voice of the Lord is over the waters;
the God of glory thunders,
the Lord thunders over the mighty waters.
4 The voice of the Lord is powerful;
the voice of the Lord is majestic.
5 The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars;
the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.
6 He makes Lebanon leap like a calf,
Sirion like a young wild ox.
7 The voice of the Lord strikes
with flashes of lightning.
8 The voice of the Lord shakes the desert;
the Lord shakes the Desert of Kadesh.
9 The voice of the Lord twists the oaks
and strips the forests bare.
And in his temple all cry, “Glory!”
10 The Lord sits enthroned over the flood;
the Lord is enthroned as King forever.
11 The Lord gives strength to his people;
the Lord blesses his people with peace.
Call to Confession
“Peace.” “Peace be with you.” These were the first words of the risen Lord to his disciples. The God whose voice thunders and strikes with flashes of lightening, the one whose word would twist an oak and strip a forest bare, appeared to his faithless friends and said “peace”. We read this story in 20th chapter of the gospel of John; after the resurrection Jesus appears to Thomas and other disciples in the upper room. How would you greet those who denied, abandoned and doubted you? But this is the God we serve, one who comes ready to forgive and not to condemn us. Let us admit our own faithlessness, as we kneel and confess our sins.
Prayer of Confession
Lord, we have failed to be your faithful disciples. We have followed the devices and desires of our own hearts instead of following You. We have ignored your call. We have not obeyed your word. We have turned away from where you lead us---especially when you lead us to deny ourselves and bear a cross. Holy Spirit, show us how this is true for each one of us and for us together. Jesus is our peace, and his name we ask you to forgive us. Raise us up to live in Christ and find joy in following Him. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Assurance of Pardon
Friends, it is true! In Jesus Christ you are forgiven.
Passing the Peace
May the peace of the Lord be with you.
Response: And also with you

“Agnus Dei”
Lamb of God you take away the sins of the world
Have mercy on us
Lamb of God you take away the sins of the world

Grant us your peace

Affirmation of Faith | Apostles Creed
We believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell; the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. We believe in the Holy Spirit; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.

Proclamation of the Word | Allan Poole
Mark 2:18-22
18 Now John’s disciples and the Pharisees were fasting. Some people came and asked Jesus, “How is it that John’s disciples and the disciples of the Pharisees are fasting, but yours are not?”
19 Jesus answered, “How can the guests of the bridegroom fast while he is with them? They cannot, so long as they have him with them. 20 But the time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them, and on that day they will fast.
21 “No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment. Otherwise, the new piece will pull away from the old, making the tear worse. 22 And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins.”

“All Who Are Thirsty”
All who are thirsty,
All who are weak,
Come to the fountain,
Dip your heart in the stream of life;
Let the pain and the sorrow
Be washed away
In the waves of His mercy,
As deep cries out to deep
(We sing)
Come, Lord Jesus, come (x4)

Prayers of Thanksgiving and Intercession
Would you like to share a prayer request? Submit your request here.
Almighty God, we hunger and thirst for your righteousness; you have satisfied us in Jesus Christ.
We are weak and failing; in Christ you give us life.
Thank you, Lord, for sending your son to live and die and rise again.
As we wait on your return, help us to understand the times.
Strengthen your church throughout the world, the church in our city, and our particular congregation, that we may be your faithful disciples.
We mourn with those who mourn today. We ask you to comfort those who are sick and suffering, those who grieve, those whose minds are troubled or bodies afflicted.
We rejoice with those who rejoice. We celebrate the many ways you provide for us, and we thank you for the fellowship we have together in Christ.
We sing your praises, Jesus, as we pray with you....
The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever.
Amen.
Song of Response | Worship Band & Congregation
“Sing to Jesus”
Come and see, look on this mystery
The Lord of the universe, nailed to a tree
Christ our God, spilling His Holy blood
Bowing in anguish His sacred head
Sing to Jesus, Lord of our shame,
Lord of our sinful hearts
He is our great Redeemer
Sing to Jesus, honor His name,
Sing of his faithfulness
Pouring His life out unto death
Come you weary and He will give you rest
Come you who mourn, lay on his breast
Christ who died, risen in paradise
Giver of mercy, giver of life
Sing to Jesus, His is the throne,
Now and forever,
He is the King of Heaven
Sing to Jesus, we are His own,
Now and forever,
Sing for the love our God has shown!

“Alleluia”
Alleluia, alleluia!
Alleluia, alleluia!
Father we praise you as Lord
All of the earth gives you worship
For your majesty
Fills the heavens, fills the earth!
Give thanks to the Lord, he is good,
The love of the Lord knows no ending.
Heirs of Israel,
say: “His love has no end.”
